In the late 90’s and early 2000 many Furuno color sounders and chart plotters experienced screen damage from exposure to the sun and high temperatures. This affected the screen by creating a white or sometimes dark halo that began in the center of the screen and slowly worked it’s way outward to encompass the entire screen. Sometimes in later stages it will appear as cracks running across the screen or bubbles. This phenomenon mainly affected the NavNet series, 582L, 1850, 1650, 1100, 1200 and 600L series of sonars and chart plotters. We work on any LCD see the About page for more...
We began to remanufacture these units years ago as a rising demand for Furuno replacement screens existed and new screens became obsolete worldwide.
The user adjustable features of the 582L and electronics is by many (including myself) considered the best sonar unit ever designed. Many captains can tell you the exact size of baitfish hundreds of feet below the surface. An old friend of mine, Ron Kiefer, claimed he could tell which way a fish was looking.
