Furuno Replacement Screens
What we offer is to replace or remanufacture the LCD screen back to a usable condition for a fraction of the $2500 replacement cost. Each repair we offer is preceded by an estimate, it is my guarantee I will adhere to my estimate or pay for the difference myself. If a unit is determined to not be repairable it will be returned with no fee.
All units are disassembled in a clean room, examined and if repairable the LCD is removed and remanufactured. If water has entered the unit most of the times it is not repairable.
Certain screen conditions are not feasible to repair. These are dead spots on the LCD or solid white lines that run horizontal or vertical on the screen. Dead spots are usually the size of a quarter and are dark black. You can actually see the dead segments in the screen if you look close. The lines running across an LCD are generally caused by the electrical bonding separating from the sides of the screen. These two cases in my opinion are not repairable. If you have this scenario you may not be able to remanufacture your own screen but please inquire as many times I will have remanufactured screens available.
I work on all types of LCD's. Other common units are FCV-1100, VX1, VX2, Furuno 139, 149 and Mercury SC-5000, If you want to repair your own unit I can also help find you a screen.
**Some screens are still available to purchase new, I will offer you all options and together we can make a decision that best fits your needs.
Another common repair is a broken port on the back of the unit. If you have broken the power, transducer or NMEA port it can be replaced.
